There’s a reason why the Bible is on the bestseller list…every year! My faith is a big driving force behind my entrepreneurial journey. I’m stepping out on faith and learning to trust God and his promises. If I pray for something to happen, I have to believe that it is possible. I have to know that it will happen because God promised me a life of abundance. Here are five scriptures to read and recall as you start your journey to leaving your fear and living in your purpose.

1 ) Philippians 4:13: I can do all this through him who gives me strength.

This is about COURAGE – to thrive, you need to not only believe you can do whatever your purpose is, but also know you can do it because God promised you strength to endure through any challenge. You can make things happen.

2 ) 2 Timothy 1:7: For the Spirit God gave us does not make us timid, but gives us power, love and self-discipline

This is about FEAR – so many people aren’t doing what they love because they are afraid to try, afraid to fail, afraid to succeed, afraid to be different…riddled with fear, so they settle for mediocrity. God has given you the power to manifest your own desires. Don’t let fear paralyze you.

3 ) Proverbs 4:7: The beginning of wisdom is this: Get wisdom. Though it cost all you have, get understanding.

This is about INSIGHT – the path to entrepreneurship is not an easy or straight one. It takes some patience and perseverance. It’s easy to give up if you don’t start with the right mindset and that everything has the opportunity to be a lesson, an opportunity to gain insight about yourself, your process or your field. We are not wired to accept failure in this way. We have been taught that failure is the opposite of success, rather than the opportunity that catapults us closer to our purpose.

4 )Romans 12:11: Never be lacking in zeal, but keep your spiritual fervor, serving the Lord.

This is about PASSION – not every business has to be built around your passions, but it sure helps make the work easier when you have to force yourself to keep at it. God has given us great gifts to serve others and ultimately serve him. If your passion is waning, take the time to refocus your energy on your ultimate goals.

5 ) 1 Peter 4: 10 : Each of you should use whatever gift you have received to serve others, as faithful stewards of God’s grace in its various forms.

This is about ABILITY – it may not seem like it now (or ever) but you do have an amazing gift. You have been given your strengths and abilities for a reason and it’s up to you to put in the work to develop that ability into income for yourself. You may not have it all figured out right now (who does?) but trust in your ability to succeed.
