As with most things, Beyonce lyrics always come through with a word. You have probably heard the notion that you are the average of your five closest friends. And there's a lot to be said about that...you are completely in charge of manifesting your destiny through speaking certain things over your life and surrounding yourself with the right people.

So, if you're not moving forward in your life the way you think you should be, it may be time to evaluate who you surround yourself with. Is your current circle below average? I know it's a tough question or maybe an even tougher realization, but I promise you only have to ask it to yourself :). Just think about the things you want to accomplish. When you share your dreams and goals with your friends, are they supportive in pushing you to think things through? Or are they dismissive, making you second guess your thoughts and ideas?

Chances are, you know someone right now that you grew up with that's still doing the same thing they were doing when you were younger. The difference between you and them is that you decided that at some point you needed something more. You chose a different direction. Now is no different. It's just time to choose a different direction. And that may include some new and different people.

You probably have also heard the phrase, it's not what you know, but who you know. The process of making yourself better often means moving beyond your comfort zone....rebranding your fear, if you will :). As an introvert, I understand how daunting it can be to meet new and different people, but building key relationships with like-minded people is going to help you be clearer on what you want. At the same time you are seeking new relationships and mentors, you need to be ready to hear feedback. If you're not ready to listen and learn, you may not be ready to seek out new friends.

So where do you start? There are some simple online tools such as meetup.com and there'e also your existing online presence. Just be yourself and open to new opportunities.
