1 Secret to Accomplish Any Goal

We spend a lot of time making excuses about why we can’t or simply won’t do something. We come to believe those things to be true, even when they are flat out lies. Our brains are powerful and we can make ourselves believe anything, if we focus on it long enough. Excuses are not reasons, they are justifications.

To be honest, they justify mediocrity. And there’s nothing mediocre about what you bring to the world.

The reason why you haven’t achieved that goal is not because you don’t have time. It’s not the money. It’s not a bad idea. It’s not even the lack of support. Most of the time what’s truly lacking is accountability.

The truth is, if there is no infrastructure to support your goal, it will not be accomplished. Accountability has to be a part of the system put in place to achieve success. And it's the one secret that has kept me on par with my business goals.

Accountability is what allows action to speak louder than the words (excuses) you tell yourself or allow others to tell you.

Accountability is hard, because it goes against the grain of success perpetrators on social platforms, you know, put your head down, work in secret and let your success speak for itself. That works, but even those working in “secret” have accountability to themselves and someone else. Don’t believe the hype, no one does success alone.

It requires a level of specificity that makes us uncomfortable. It requires some change, which naturally brings out the resistance in your brain, which can manifests itself as a number of different things, but comes down to a lack of clarity and focus.

There are 3 simple tips that you can bank on to get things done.

Number 1: Be clear about your goal.*

Number 2: Make the time, don’t squeeze it in.

Number 3: Get accountability

I know, not everything is as simple as it sounds. But these really are simple and practical steps to help you get things done.

The hardest part is deciding how bad you really want it.
